Camp Newark Museum

For ages 5-13+

 

General Public $50 per child, per week
Members $45 per child, per week

 

Virtual Camp Newark Museum of Art

Join us this summer as we build community through project-based classes where campers can develop their skills and make life-long friends! Campers will participate in two (2) 45-minute LIVE Zoom classes per day and Google Classroom check-ins throughout the week. 

Virtual Camp at The Newark Museum of Art will consist of two sessions and teen classes to accommodate all our campers. Mornings will be reserved for children ages 5-7 & 8-12 and afternoons for teens ages 13+. All weekly sessions include the cost of materials. Materials will be available for curbside pickup only on selected dates.

Each week we will explore a different theme!

July 6-10 | Green Machine: Reuse! Reduce! Recycle! Let’s save the Earth one turtle at a time! Register ages 5-7 | ages 8-12

July 13-17 | Each for Equal: Change and equality start with you! Get ready to roar and share what’s important to you. Register ages 5-7 | ages 8-12

July 20-24 | Blank Canvas: Paint your life with the rainbow! If you can imagine it, you can make it! Register ages 5-7 | ages 8-12

July 27-31 | Picture This: Snap a pic! Explore and develop your stories, drawings, and ideas. Register ages 5-7 | ages 8-12

August 3-7 | Reimagining the Future: A new start to the future! What do you see in the future of space, art, and design? Register ages 5-7 | ages 8-12

August 10-14 | Live. Legendary: Make your mark! Share your story and celebrate life as we finish summer camp with a bang!  Register ages 5-7 | ages 8-12


For ages 5-12:
Sessions will meet Monday-Friday from 10:00 to 11:45am with a 15-minute break between the two sessions and with Google Classroom check-ins throughout the week.

Classes include:

  • Art Making – Make art inspired by our galleries! New projects every week! 
  • Science Experiments – Explore a variety of science topics from the comfort of your home! 
  • Maker – Learn different art techniques and create your own designs! 
  • Planetarium – Go beyond our planet and discover new worlds with our astronomer! 
  • Live Animals – Not your regular zoom class! Let’s take a field trip to meet some new animal friends!  
  • Yoga – Introduction to child-friendly yoga
  • Music & Movement – Learn quick dance routines while getting a workout in.
  • Funday Surprise – Enjoy games, interactive zoom activities, and so much more on Fridays!

General Public $50 per child, per week
Members $45 per child, per week

Teen Classes
Sessions will meet three (3) times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from  2:00 to 3:45pm with a 15-minute break between the two sessions and with Google Classroom check-ins throughout the week.
Teens will be able to select from weekly intensive classes taught by teaching artists.  Topic will range from anime to photography to coding!
