Your ticket to Museums around the world, Museum Crawl is a collaboration between The Newark Museum of Art and a different institution each session.
 

January 21

Museum Crawl: Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Noon
Join us as we explore the work of one of the most significant artists of the 20th century, with Ariel Plotek, Curator of Fine Art at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Museum Crawl: Museum of History, Anthropology and Art of the University of Puerto Rico

El Museo de Historia, Antropología y Arte de la Universidad de Puerto Rico fue fundado en 1951 para recolectar, mantener y conservar, con fines de investigación y divulgación cultural, todo lo que constituye parte del tesoro histórico, antropológico y artístico de Puerto Rico. En esta presentación, el Museo presentará una muestra de su inmensa colección de carteles, que representan diversos aspectos culturales puertorriqueños.

The Museum of History, Anthropology and Art of the University of Puerto Rico was established in 1951 to collect, maintain and conserve, for research and cultural dissemination purposes, everything that constitutes part of the historical, anthropological and artistic treasure of Puerto Rico. In this Museum Crawl, the Museum will present a sample of their immense collection of posters, which represent diverse Puerto Rican cultural aspects.

Museum Crawl: Art Olympics
Two Museums go head to head, but there can only be one winner! In this audience driven competition, you get to decide which Museum has the creepiest object, most romantic object, weirdest use, and best dressed just to name a few. Get a look inside the collections of the Chrysler Museum of Art & The Newark Museum of Art as they show off their best and most unique works. Each round the Museums will share their artwork that best fits the different categories.

Museum Crawl: Museo Egizio (Egyptian Museum of Turin)
Join us as we discover one of the largest and most significant collections of Egyptian antiquities in the world. Our guide will be Christian Greco, Director of the Museo Egizio in Turin, Italy.

July 8

Museum Crawl: Latin American Art, with the Cleveland Museum of Art
Nadiah Rivera Fellah, Associate Curator of Contemporary Art at the Cleveland Museum of Art, and Elena Muñoz, Curatorial Assistant at the Newark Museum of Art, will share their thoughts on artwork from Latin America in the CMA and The Newark Museum of Art’s collection. Rivera Fellah will highlight works currently on view as part of the CMA’s exhibition, A Graphic Revolution: Prints and Drawings in Latin America. There will be a Q&A period after the discussion.

Explore Hong Kong art and Chinese culture with Elaine Ngan, Assistant Curator at Sun Museum, a private museum in Hong Kong.
